About
Hudson Valley Mountain Recue is a volunteer based rescue service offering its services to the public throughout the Shawangunk Ridge and Catskill Mountains covering the Mohonk Preserve, Minnewaska State Park, Catskill Park, and other locations in the Mid-Hudson valley.
We are a group of volunteer individuals comprised of park rangers, mountain guides, and experienced rock climbers, hikers and mountain bikers and were founded to help out the rangers in the Catskills during the winter season with ice climbing related incidents. From this, we have come to help out throughout the Mid-Hudson valley with search and rescue efforts from lost hikers and hunters to vertical rope rescue for rock climbing and ice climbing.
